Shade Sail Posts: At Scott Metals we use 100x100x4mm Trade Quality Heavy Duty Australian Made Steel Supagal SHS in the manufacture of Shade Sail Posts for domestic applications. This product is pre-Galvanised, inside and out, grade AS1163 - 450PLUS material. The total coating thickness of Supagal pre-Galvanised sections is twice that of any other product that is currently available. Heavy Duty Thickness for strength and structural integrity. TYPE 1 Shade Sail Posts consist of the Steel Supagal SHS Tube cut to your specific length and come complete with a Galvanised Metal Cap and a 12mm Stainless Steel Eyelet. TYPE 2 Shade Sail Posts consist of the Supagal SHS cut to your specific length and come with a Galvanised Metal Cap and a 12mm Stainless Steel Eyelet. A 250mm square 10mm thick base plate is fully welded to the post with a minimum 6mm continuous fillet weld, ensuring strength and structural integrity. After fabrication the plate and weld area are painted with a Cold Galvanised primer to assist with rust prevention. (Round Base Plates are available, extra fabrication time is required). Should you require extra protection from the elements, then we recommend using Fully Hot Dip Galvanised option for Type 2 Shade Sail Posts. Hot Dip Galvanizing is a process where the post, after fabrication, is completely immersed in molten zinc. This thick metallic zinc coating, that completely covers the post and base plate, inside and out, provides a superior corrosion resistant finish. Lead Times: The majority of our Type 1 and Type 2 Standard Shade Sail Posts are fabricated to order within 24 hours. For Fully Hot Dip Galvanised finished Posts please allow a minimum of 10 working days for manufacture and surface application. Delivery: Shade Sail Posts can be delivered Door to Door. Alternative Designs: Round, Square and Rectangular steel sections in a multitude of sizes, lengths, thicknesses and finishes, are used in the production of Shade Sail Posts. Different top and base plate configurations or any other special features that may be required can be manufactured to order. Shade Sail Posts are fabricated in our Brisbane factory.
